Not accurate. You’ve been it wrong.

The extreme court has 3 justices who follow the constitution and 6 justices who don’t give a shit about the constitution.

Liberal or conservative distinctions are irrelevant.

If you believe that there is no political partisanship involved in SCOTUS then you are entirely misguided & misinformed.

The court is bought and paid for by the Republican cartel. What in God's name can we do about it? Why can't the Dems do something anything legally against this president, against this fake cabinet, against this corrupt Court??

Because while the Dems might not have appointed the majority of the judges currently serving, they if given the opportunity would weigh the court in their favour. It was biden that allowed the appointment of Clarence Thomas and look how he's turned out. Free free Palestine 🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴

Not accurate. You’ve been it wrong.

The extreme court has 9 justices who don’t give a shit about the constitution.

Liberal or conservative distinctions are irrelevant.

They ALL work for their 1% masters and Wall Street.

Representative democracy clearly is over for the United States - and, more broadly, much of the West. International law has become irrelevant to the country that most often bloviates about 'rule of law' ( an essentially meaningless phrase, employed in lieu of actual, agreed upon rules and principles ). And domestically, the U.S.A. has been gradually eroding the Constitution and Bill of Rights for decades. What has changed, under the current regime, is a marked acceleration in authoritarianism. The long politicized Supreme Court - a potential hurdle for the march towards fascism - predictably has caved to the Trump administration. Many warned in the years following 9/11 that precedence were being set - by both Democrat and Republican administrations - in contravention of Constitutional principles and law. That all it would take is an autocrat to fully activate a police state. That time is now upon us.

Representative democracy in the USA was never intended to serve the interests of all Americans. The founders believed in representative democracy to serve the white male landowners who were over the age of 21 years (the age necessary for legal ownership of land at that time).

The persons who fit that profile constituted approximately 3% of the population.

Today, the ruling class of billionaires, mega-millionaires and corporations still constitutes a very small percentage (less than 3%, probably less than 0.5%) of the total population.

Your progressive (I.e. Socialist) god, FDR politicized the SCOTUS when they rightly found many of the New Deal policies unconstitutional! FDR threatened to “pack the Court” , after which the SC started to tear apart the Constitution.

So stew in your own juices, faggot!

And now you stupidly claim authoritarianism, when what you mean is you don’t like the political remedies the current administration offers as a a result of their election victory!

Electing judges makes them politicians.

We got the conservatives from Republican Presidents. Obama was denied his selection by Moscow Mitch who wanted a ultra conservative court. Now we have a rapist who likes beer and two ideologues who interpret settled law to their own religious perspectives. There is an incompetent chief Justice and two unethical judges Alito and Thomas who need to be removed.

Maybe criteria for judges needs to change.

Glad you popped up into my feed @Steven Donziger thank you for explaining this - I had been listening to the Rest Is Politics and Anthony Scaramucci said the opposite and extolled Amy Comey Barrett’s opinion as being a wink and a nod re keeping authoritarianism in check and that magas wouldn’t be happy if they read the opinion.

My son and soon to be daughter in law are both lawyers and said exactly what you just said. And also said Barrett’s opinion was dangerous for lower courts - that her language was imperious. So keep saying it. And keep helping us understand these rulings.
